Rick Pennycooke

President

BES, MCIP, RPP

Rick is an urban planner and the Principal of the Firm which he founded in 1994. He advises a broad range of national and international clients on development, due diligence, market impact, municipal approvals and site selection issues. Appearances before the Ontario Municipal Board, the Courts and city councils are a regular part of Rick’s activities. His professional background covers private and public sector experience gained as in in-house consultant for major law firms and the Ontario Government. Rick is a graduate of the University of Waterloo’s School of Urban & Regional Planning. He is also a Registered Professional Planner, a member of the Canadian Institute of Planners, a Registered Real Estate Agent and a Commissioner for Taking Affidavits. Rick is interviewed regularly in the national TV and print media. He is often seen on CTV Newsnet, CBC Newsworld and Business News Network (BNN) and is quoted in the National Post, The Globe and Mail and Bloomberg News. Numerous organizations involved in real estate development, retail location strategies and property law have invited Rick to address them at conventions and seminars.

David Ashbourne

Vice President

MES (Pl.), MCIP, RPP

David is the managing consultant on all of the Firm’s land use planning, GIS, and site design projects. His duties extend to securing municipal approvals, zoning due diligence, statistical examination, transit-oriented development analysis, policy review, client representation and market intelligence services. He brings a wealth of experience and knowledge gained from past positions held at a large Canadian based international planning, architecture and engineering firm. David also has extensive experience working with planning related software including: AutoCad, ArcMap, ArcPad, ArcGIS, InDesign and SketchUp. David obtained his Masters in Environmental Studies (MES) in 2019.

Mike Cidylo

Planner

MES (Pl.), MCIP, RPP

Mike consults on an extensive range of client activities including policy analysis; highest and best use investigations; due diligence and, site design. Clients rely on his expertise in managing the daily aspects of project development and his excellent research skills. Mike obtained his Masters in Environmental Studies (MES) in 2019.

Emily Clarkson

Planner

BES, RPP (Provisional)

Emily provides expertise on a range of planning consulting services including land use planning, zoning due diligence, policy reviews and analysis, and obtaining development approvals (Official Plan and Zoning By-law Amendments, Site Plan Approval, Consents, Minor Variances, and Plan of Subdivisions).
